MSgt Steve Sweeney - The Trump administration did not enact policies separating children from parents on the border. The Obama administration enacted the policies. The Trump administration enforced them. Where else in the criminal justice system are children kept with their parents when their parents are incarcerated awaiting adjudication of their case?

You can think of a few differences between rallies... but you can't type them out...?

There was no mention of the spying by the FBI before the election because Secretary Clinton was the presumptive winner and by his own admission President Obama didn't want to upset the apple cart. the natural question would be "how did you find that out Mr. President?" and then he President Obama) would have to admit that his administration was spying on the Trump campaign.

Why was Director Comey fired? ""While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice (Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein in his memorandum "Restoring Confidence in the FBI) that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau," Trump wrote. "It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission."
Comey botched:
_ the Clinton email investigation,
_ the Bill Clinton Loretta Lynch airport meeting investigation,

Not even the most squirrelly thing President Trump has done put him in the league of Hitler in 1933, nor that anyone in his administration has done comes near to the Gestapo. Frankly I'm tired of the NAZI comparisons, they are even exaggeration. They are pure fabrication and an insult to the victims of the Third Reich. If you really want to draw parallels look to the ministry of Propaganda under Goebbels, although I'm not sure the left would like the outcome of an intellectually honest evaluation.

Maj John Bell - Obama enacted the policies separating families? Oh really? Perhaps you could point out how they did that given the stated policy was to keep families together. What policy have you been told the Obama admin enacted aimed at separating families?

I see, so the Obama administration engaged in illegal activity, for a Democrat anyway, in investigating Donald Trump, but didn't let anyone in on the fruits of their crime announcing Trump was under investigation, because they knew Hillary was going to win the election? Makes absolutely no sense. Remember, the important aspect of Trump's dealing with Ukraine was announcement of an investigation. Whether an actual investigation was conducted or not was a secondary concern. And why would the Obama admin have any problem explaining it given Trump's lawyers argued investigating political opponents is perfectly legit?

And if current presidents can send their AG to supervise and intercede in legal cases they are actively involved in, then what the hell is wrong with a former president meeting with an AG? Bill Clinton is a private citizen and can meet with whom he wants. You think THAT should have been investigated? For what? What crime do you feel was committed? Does Bill Clinton not have First Amendment rights? Does he not have the freedom to speak with whomever he wishes? The suggestion that the FBI needed to investigate a meeting is, in itself, very Gestapo like.

I certainly can look at the Ministry of Propaganda under Goebbels. He would have fit right in with the Fox "opinion" commentators. I am sure he would have loved Hannity and Limbaugh and their service to the Fuhrer.

I really am sorry you are offended and even tired, but the parallels are there. If you cannot even concede how some might see some parallels, then the idea of "intellectual honesty" is right out the window. In the Trump admin you see scapegoating - from day 1; intimidation, of not only political opponents but of judges, representatives, and even private citizens that happened to be jurors; perpetual, jingoist rallies aimed to serve his ego and not aimed at any specific policy objective; quashing of dissent, installation of loyalists and "yes men" and firing or removing anyone regardless of actual competence. Fragile ego, cult of personality, however you want to slice it, comparisons can be made and substantiated through Trump's own words and actions. Add to that blanket claims of privilege, suppressing evidence, and a non-stop propaganda campaign through right wing "news" sources and social media. Consider how fast they turned on Bolton, a right-wing icon, when they merely thought he might say something that would cast Donald in a negative light. Maybe that is what people on the right are scared of - being ostracized and threatened for any glimmer of independent thought. Perhaps that is why they can't even come to admit or see how someone outside the Trump fishbowl might see things.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - https://www.heritage.org/immigration/commentary/whos-responsible-separating-alien-kids-their-parents-many-people-not-trump

After the election, Obama said during a news conference at the White House that he worried overly public US efforts to draw attention to the interference could be viewed as political interference and would not necessarily "spook the Russians." "We were playing this thing straight — we weren't trying to advantage one side or another other," Obama said. "Imagine if we had done the opposite. It would have become one more political scrum." Maj John Bell - Ah, the Heritage Foundation. I am sure we can expect some unbiased analysis there... like when the article states, "immigration policies foolishly created by the Obama administration" - sure, no spin there. And the poor Trump administration, just doing its job... Right. Of course it then talks about a legal case under the Clinton administration, and something called a "Catch and Release" policy, but does not provide any reference, link, or citation that demonstrates this was an actual policy - just what they called it, and what they perceive to be the problem. Of course the aim of that policy was not to seperate children, in fact, just the opposite... but you said the Obama administration enacted the policies, but the Trump admin enforced them. Doesn't appear to be the case.

Yes, and the Obama administration went out of their way NOT to influence the 2016 election and create a perception of favoritism for Hillary. Can you imagine the uproar if the Obama admin had come out openly and said the Russians were trying to help get Trump elected? That is the kind of thing the Trump admin would do - attempt to get public announcements of investigations into political opponents. The actions of the Obama admin in this respect, to remain quiet publicly and NOT attempt to unduly influence an election, are laudable. To say the Obama admin to no actions against Russian interference, however, is completely false. They took the information to the Republican controlled Congress in an attempt for a bipartisan effort, and got nothing. The Obama admin imposed sanctions and enacted policies to support NATO allies and efforts, among other actions.

And I appreciate the article from "azcentral", whatever that is, and I ask again, what was criminal about the meeting? You want to lock people up for talking? What sort of investigation was the FBI supposed to do? The article was referencing an IG reports, so apparently someone looked into it. From the article - "Both Clinton and Lynch said they did not discuss the investigation into Hillary Clinton during the 20 minutes that they met.". Even if they did, would it be illegal? If Trump people can meet with people in the Seychelles to discuss opening "back channels" to Russia, I fail to see how two Americans meeting on a plane for a conversation is in anyway illegal or requires FBI investigation.
