I read Duke of Wellington was keen at using terrain and had a military advantage by using an escarpment and the reverse slope. The day was reported to be very wet and muddy which worked against Napoleon.

Don’t know if you have read it but “Waterloo “by Bernard Cornwell is an excellent source on this battle,read it a few times already and always seem to find more info about the tactics used by both leaders.
