Trump only hires yes men and women. Anyone who speaks their mind and knows a thing or two is fired. What a crock.

1SG John Furr - And there you have it. Under Clinton and Obama, I gritted my teeth, bit my tongue, didn't put bumper stickers on my vehicle and never gave my opine with any of my command, unlike some of the brain dead here who still wear the uniform...but hey, if you can live with the flagrant deception of the oath of swearing in, then good for you. Show's your character and more importantly the lack of true leadership.

1SG John Furr I had the honor and privilege of being a 1SG for 4 years in 3 different companies. I am now retired. I would disagree on being yes men. We carry out final orders. I was told on many occasions to "shut up and color" when I spoke my mind and wasnt a yes man. I could at least sleep better at night knowing I had to carry out an order that I didnt think was best for my troops but had no other option.

MSgt Kurt S. Under Bush and Trump I had to grit my teeth as well. I always spoke my mind with tact.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - As I told others on RP, it's never my job to "prove" to people that doubt. It's their job to look at the work or works cited and find the passage as they are the ones doubting. If I allow it the other way around I am doing all the work proving all the time whatever I say and the doubters skate freely by with their intellectual laziness doing as little work as possible but trolling posts on RP, it also encourages others to troll posts they do not agree with. So good luck, you should be able to find the passages fairly quick if your any good with Google or just by going to a book store and looking at the table of contents or index. Good Luck!

Most of those Obama appointees and those that flourished under his "LEADERSHIP" have either bit the dust or blended in with the others or fell on their swords because they no longer had overwatch. Many forget that the military gets its numbers from the outside and that whatever your beliefs are they survive basic and you continue to believe whatever rhetoric rings your bell. I served under 6 presidents and I found Republicans tend to give military raises, show a strong face to our enemies and allies and do the same stupid shit that some democrats do. The democrats cut military funding for social programs, had wishy-washy foreign policy and kissed our enemies ass in addition to understanding the mission of Americas military. In the end the folks that sent us, are sending us now and will send us in the future never really have to worry about the cost to those in uniform. While it would be nice to have a President with a military background its not required and can be a disadvantage if that individual used the military as a "CHECK TH BOX" on their rise to power.

I served in the Army when Reagan was POTUS. The Army was NOT political or politically correct!
The mission was clear...and I served in FRG 2nd Armored Division (FWD)!

SPC Nancy Greene - Times are constantly in a state of flux when it came to promotions. And as you implied, MOS has a lot to do with it. I'm still pissed that I didn't make Buck Sergeant until I'd been 26 months. I know that in other times, and in other fields, making E-5 in under three is satisfactory.

Capt Jeff S. - One of the many things I liked about being in SF half a century ago is I saw no micromanagement at my level. I know President Johnson micromanaged the top echelons of the war, but as an A-team puke l I decided what needed to be done and did it without supervision. Sometimes I'd be tasked with a job, but still it was left to me how I got it done. I loved it.
