Guns can be a instrument used in suicide as are many other items.

One's mental state leads to suicide, just talk to one just before they kill themselves.

I know of a guy while I was stationed in Europe was having trouble with wife screwing around while we in the field. He went to the Bahnhof to jump in front of a hi-speed through train.
I would say that guns aren't the problem in suicides either.
