So I just asked myself, why is this country full of so much hate and to what extent will the effects be? I have no empirical evidence to support my theory; but I believe the pandemic, caustic politics, poor economy, and racial tensions have contributed to the hate.

There is no doubt that the pandemic has exacerbated any and all problems. We Americans are a hard working lot. Maybe the French can close Paris all summer and go on holiday. Maybe the Greeks can borrow their nation into destitution so that they can enjoy the good life. But We the People love to work. No President, no Congress, no government made America prosperous. We did that, and we aren't happy sitting around watching it go to crap because of some virus. So, yes, we're all on edge. I could mention other factors, but somehow I think that should be more than enough to invite an argument.

It can get problematic because our history is problematic. For example, if we got rid of all American leaders who had anything to do with the destruction of the native american societies, that would probably cover all American leaders until 1910 or so.'

And no, I'm not advocating that.
