It can get problematic because our history is problematic. For example, if we got rid of all American leaders who had anything to do with the destruction of the native american societies, that would probably cover all American leaders until 1910 or so.'

And no, I'm not advocating that.

I don't believe in politically correct vandalism. I favor a plaque on these statues that gives a synopsis of the good and the bad. Remove history and you can't teach it. We do a pretty lousy job of it with them as it is
