Yes, and more people were EMPLOYED in January 2020, than at any time in American History. Congrats President Trump. I wonder what happened between January and June? It's a mystery!

Col Joseph Lenertz - it's not a mystery. Trump mismanaged the pandemic response. This is his pattern, throughout his business career. Trump sets something up, following the lead of other people, then something happens, and all of his work turns to poo.

Any President has zero power over Governors. Majority of business closure were caused by local or state mandates. My son lost two jobs as did I. Both were due to county orders.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I find your mental gymnastics humorous. The historical high unemployment in Canada and Australia proves the lie of Trump being causal. The Coronavirus is causal. Different Governors handled it with varying degrees of severity, and the results for New York are clear.

With a higher population, the actual numbers, while very concerning, mean far less than the unemployment rate. The unemployment rate was almost 25% in 1933 and was above 14% for nine years ending in 1940. Those are the facts. Your opinion based on those facts is up to you, me and all others

Wow. What a nanny-naysayer. One fact due to outside influence is the basis of this? Yea, let's ignore every other fact and hyper-focus on a single point. Never mind we have, today, more people in the US than ever in history. Never mind that we have the most *employed* people during Trumps Presidency than ever in history. Never mind all the other facts that are counter-point to this *one* fact. You know - just never mind.
