Kind of made me to start thinking of all the foods we now consider staples that we never heard of until the GIs returning from WWII brought them to our shores.

One thing about SPAM though ,My father and late Father in Law ate so much of it during WWII neither has or even wants to ever eat it again. SPAM didn't spoil very quickly and could be kept a long time which is one reason it was used a lot.
