In a closer look at President Donald Trump's last few months in office, The New York Times has published a detailed new report around how the outgoing US leader wanted to approach the worsening coronavirus pandemic.
Overheard yelling at his son-in-law and senior advisor Jared Kushner on 19 August, Mr Trump reportedly demanded to "do what Mexico does" when it comes to testing for Covid-19.
"They don’t give you a test till you get to the emergency room and you’re vomiting," he said during a gathering of top aides in the Oval Office.
The statement mirrors Mr Trump's past thinking around how the US coronavirus cases should appear: specifically, the fewer tests conducted, the fewer positive cases on record.

I still do not understand what widespread testing does. I tested positive after I had symptoms, and after others I was in contact with 8-10 days earlier also had symptoms. The test was nice to know, I guess, but both the doctor and I already knew I had it.

SGT (Join to see) - We have been testing millions, wearing masks, distancing, shutting down businesses, etc., AND NONE OF IT WORKS. It's a disease. People will get sick, most of them, like 68 year old over weight me, will get better. Much as some people wish, the government cannot change it.

SGT (Join to see) - I agree that testing is a total and complete joke. Around here, everyone is wearing masks indoors all the time, and the rates are skyrocketing. I still wear mine, but I am becoming convinced they do not work.

What is amazing is how his supporters say how great he is. Every major endeavor was not finished or blew up in our faces. There was nothings good about him and he had no redeeming qualities. He had absolutely no presidential timber and devolved into a caustic, trivial, lying, silly, vapid, stupid, person bent on revenge against anyone who does not kiss his ass. Trumpers wanted change and we got change by him constantly serving us one shit sandwich after another. I can’t wait for them to throw him out of the White House. He turned it into a circus full of clowns. Trump will go down as the president who tried to steal an election like a third world dictator who does not have the grace to accept the principles of the constitution nor democracy. We can’t get rid of him fast enough. He is not a leader. He is a ill mannered and ill tempered toddler in a 70 year olds body with the equivalent mental acumen. What a fvcking disgrace that he got 4 years to wreck this country.

That is right wing mantra. I will pick one crash and burn scene Trump caused. If we adjust the death toll to Japan’s population it will be like 8300 deaths. The US death toll is around 340,000 deaths. Our death toll is about 40 times Japan’s. You can blame Trump and his absolutely pathetic leadership for that. There is a lot of blood on his hands. PO2 Robert-Scott Schram Your logic is anything but sound. Cancer, heart disease, and abortions are not contagious, and cannot be compared to covid and influenza. Try comparing cancer deaths for the same period you use for covid and flu deaths. As for comparing vivid with the flu, your own numbers show that vivid is approximately 3 times as deadly as the flu.
One last note, we have been dealt withcovid for only 1 year, how can you claim that 344,000 is a 2 year total?
