The guy was begging for it, but he's smart that he didn't, because he didn't have enough clips/rounds to survive the day. If he started firing, he would have been over run once he emptied his weapon. He did his job well and went home alive. That's the best ending that he (and his family) could hope for. On top of that this guy will probably get a medal, an eventual promotion, and will most likely be upgraded to a personal security detail in the near future.
