Thanks SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth. Even though I am a math teacher I took the time to talk to my students about this today. They tell me they don't do to much in depth talk/study in History class about the finer points of war, just the overall view.

I was stationed in Okinawa from 1968 to 1970. Other than Suicide Cliff, there wasn't much show about the battle.

Cpl Vic Burk I've Heard About the Place from Uncle SN William "Bill" Nagel. Told Me about Landing Marines on the Beach. He figured out the Japanese Only shot at His Boat while the Marines were onboard so getting them Off was Priority One. No Dawdling. Little did He Know His Little Brother would Join the Marines SGT Jack K. Nagel Supply Sgt with the 2/2, My Dad.
