My doctor carries her pistol while in her practice and travels with it regularly. A friend asked her why she carried and could still hold to her oath. She responded with, "I took an oath to do no harm WHILE treating a patient. There is no piece of that oath that says I have to be a victim or allow my patients come to harm by the actions of a criminal."
I saluted her.

The doctors have a right to tell you that you can't take your gun into his office. He has no right to tell you that you can't defend yourself. Its not his business what you do outside his office.

Their lack of understanding of the problem combined with their biased agenda conveniently places the center of gravity for this problem upon the average gun owner and not upon violent criminals, from whence the problem originates. It is indeed a violent criminal problem, not a gun problem.
