I believe at the time Coke believed it may fly. I also believe that at the same time Coke knew it was BS, that and they quickly figured that they had the wrong person for corporate counsel.

When I came home from Vietnam in 1970 I was turned down for a job #1 because I was a veteran,#2 because I was white that’s what I was told my thought was this is what I fought for no matter how wrong anyone the Vietnam war was. Is this how white veterans are going to be treated by the VA now.
