One of the greatest skills acquired by a SM during their service which may or may not be transferable to the civilian sector is the ability to sleep anywhere anytime under any conditions.

From standing up in cattle cars to sleeping in tracks while rolling to catching Z's in fighting positions we've all been there! Great post we can all remember!

I have gone to sleep in almost every position and location in my short three year enlistment back in the 60s,from mortar attacks to sleeping walking upright,covered in leeches ln monsoons,but could not shut my eyes waiting for the chopper taking me out of the field ,longest night of my life.
