A gun is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. A hammer is a tool nothing more, nothing less. An Ice pick is a tool nothing more, nothing less. A knife is a tool nothing more, nothing less. There are many tools out there that can be used to kill a person. It takes a person to use that tool for the wrong reason.

The only one out of those things you mentioned that is built to kill things is a gun though. That's literally the reason it was created - to kill.

True. When a gun is not available any other item can and has been used to kill including your fists or feet.

The only way to eliminate criminals is to either put them behind bars for a very long time, or to put a bullet between their eyes.

SFC (Join to see) - Its not a matter can be rehabilitated but who wants to be rehabilitated. Just like you can take a horse to water but you can't make him drink.

TSgt George Rodriguez The majority of people in prison are there for nonviolent drug offenses. Relatively minor crimes that get mandatory minimum 10 years at times. Yet we see rapists and child molesters get a few months or probation.

The prison system in the US is a joke. It's hard to rehabilitate people when you treat them like subhuman. Then toss them back into society and expect them to reintegrate after being institutionalized.

Prison doesn't rehabilitate. It should. That's the point. Punish and rehabilitate.

If you don't give people the tools to rehabilitate then they can't reintegrate.

SGT Steve McFarland Because it doesn't rehabilitate. We have the highest incarceration rate of any developed country in the world. We don't need to but we jail people for every little thing, mostly POC.
