Thanks for that history lesson, Doc. Nurse MacDonald was quite a lady! She should have a VA hospital named for her. Army nurses are incredible! I know one now who came to San Antonio to study nursing at Brook Army Hospital and was picked up for the Administration Staff and studied law at night at St Mary’s University Law School. When she retired from the Army, she opened a law practice and was soon elected to be a District Judge. President George W. Bush when Texas Governor appointed her to the Fourth Court of Appeals, from which she later retired and resumed her private law practice. Today, she still practices law and teaches an adult Sunday School class at our Methodist Church. The missus and I are members . Superb teacher!
