That's actually true, according to several studies.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand - You do realize that killings are down, and have been on a downward trend since the 1990s? You know, when 16 states went from no-issue or may-issue concealed carry to shall-issue? That brought the shall-issue license states up to 30 by 1997, and that tracks a pretty steep decline in homicides over the same period.

Police are targeted more and more frequently - a sad symptom of our sick society and I'm not talking mental illness, but rather the degradation of the morals of this country. Cops are villified while criminals, even those with felony records of aggravated assault, drug dealing and other more serious crimes are hailed as icons to be adored and honored.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand - Randy - I don't know where you got anything about guns from my comment; but since you mention it ... this happened in one of the cities with THE MOST stringent gun control measures in the country. Twenty-one people shot overnight and you can bet that NONE of them were ARMED thanks to Chicagos stringent anti-gun status, meaning none could defend themselves.

SSG Bill McCoy - My local cops say they prefer less guns on the street. You deal with what the officer said as I totally think he knows what he is talking about.

SFC Randy Hellenbrand - I don't know where you're at, but the police here (Western PA) are mostly all pro-gun ownership. Even our DA participates in our Sheriff's community meetings covering gun laws and gun RIGHTS. As you get closer to Philadelphia however (Democrat controlled), the cops are mostly ANTI-gun.
At any rate, what an officer(s) may "prefer," isn't the law of the land. Common sense SCREAMS that the anti-gun cities, (Chicago, New York, Philadelpia, etc.) have the highest GUN CRIMES, even on a per capita basis.
