https://www.insidehook.com/daily_brief/travel/soviet-submarine-queen-mary-long-beachMy family and I have been on the Queen Mary over a dozen times and as recently as 2019. We spent two nights on the hotel. The day after, we went to see the Battleship U.S.S Iowa.
This hotel is also a museum and even has a ghost tour for those interested in the Paranormal. My wife and I have experienced strange things on the ship. My wife once walked into a restaurant on the Queen Mary She thought it was open and waited to be seated. She waited a couple minutes and didn't see anybody but she heard noises in the kitchen and she walks into the kitchen and there was nobody there. A minute later, an employee can you tell her that the restaurant was closed and when she asked the employee if they had any hauntings on board? The employee just smiled.
The hotel Queen Mary is in serious need of renovation be due to rust from being in the ocean. The City of Long Beach took over the ship and hopefully the state of California with his Federal bailout, should have money available to invest in Saving this one of a kind ship. The Queen Mary actually sank the HMS Curacoa because it zags when it should have zigged and the Queen Mary cut the ship in half. The Queen Mary could not stop due to a U-Boat threat so it kept going.
The last time I went there, they would give the Government rate for those with a military ID card.
I do not recall when they had tours on the Scorpion. It's been a rusting Hulk as long as I can remember.
You can get tours of the Queen Mary. You do not have to stay the night there to check the ship out. They have a small Museum on World War II when it was a troop ship carrying 20,000 people. The Titanic was smaller than this ship by over a hundred feet. It is worth to check this attraction out. At one time it had the Spruce Goose next to it in that huge Dome.
