A short film inspired by the short story written by Robin Bartlett. A story based on the writer’s life experience, walking “point” on the trail while patrolling during wartime in Vietnam. He tells the story for many of us.

I can imagine the absolute fear and weariness of the trail due to booby traps and ambushes. However, walking in the open can also be infinitely dangerous. That adrenaline over a long period of time eats at you.

In all candor I don’t know the minutia of mental, emotional, and physical trauma that leads to PTSD. My approach to help people heal is focusing on reducing and mitigating symptoms. If we are successful in this endeavor, life becomes much better.

SPC Steve Irvine - Yes sir. That is the CPT Obvious moment that nobody addresses. When I mentor people, an essential task is significant reduction of symptoms to reach the overarching objective of helping them heal 150 degrees. I may not be good at this but it is not due to lack of trying.
If I am successful I feel immeasurably good, but not for me, for them. I am a slave to this endeavor, but I enjoy this indulgence.
