I am pretty sure, we could draw many comparisons between our civilian and military leadership through Iraq and Afghanistan with the likes of Johnson, McNamara and Westmoreland. We don’t seem to learn anything. Through my career (80-13) I always felt bad for Vietnam Vets and how that all went down, how they were received, and how it was perceived. Colonel I can only say one thing Politicians are idiots and should stay out of War making decisions, and let the Military do what it was trained to do. No Politician that has never served in Combat with the US Military should ever have anything to say about Stratagem in a War.

Well sad Gunny, I agree. What's the point of having a Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretaries of the Military Branches if Politicians who either never served or were not in Command positions if they did serve are making all the Military decisions? It's pointless. Politicians should keep their noses out of the Military and just stick to what they know, sucking up, pandering to their base, lying and kissing ass
