Afghanistan’s president Ashraf Ghani has reportedly left the country for Tajikistan after Taliban fighters entered Kabul and sought the surrender of the government.
Senior officials confirmed his departure on Sunday as the Taliban made further, swift gains in and around the capital.
Asked for comment, the president’s office said it “cannot say anything about Ashraf Ghani’s movement for security reasons”.

20 years of training and equipping the Afghan military about 350,000 troops against 75,000 Taliban and they can’t fight worth shit and in a week the Taliban are in Kabul. Like Vietnam they did not have the will to fight for their “own” country. Ridiculous. All our General’s should be fired for not knowing this or knowing and not yelling from the roof tops for the last 15 years that this was a waste of our blood, time and money. That being said, after 20 years the Afghan people needed to fight for their freedoms. All Biden did is rip the band aid off. Had we stayed another 20 years they would still have collapsed. Freedom must be fought and paid for by those who can not live without it. It can never be kept when served up on a platter.
