To paraphrase the last paragraph of the article: "We(retailers) will pass to the consumer any price increase necessary to offset our potential profit loss". Now think about this, we stock holders of the various companies want our dividends for our retirement. So, this being the case we are demanding the companies stay profitable so we can enrich ourselves. Let's put some of the blame on ourselves, a classic Catch 22 scenario. IMO.

Just wait until the democrats pass their tax hike, inflation will go up another 2 or 3 %.

Yes, and this in just the beginning.... I have been predicting a boom like in the 70s. It's going to seem unreal.... on the good side, real estate values will boom as well. People that own property and owe a lot of money on property will see big gains. But the people struggling will get hit hard.
