Even if this wasn't the right time to leave. We had to leave at some in time and the experiment would have to have come back to stateside training sites/camps. So now SOF must retain their lessons learned, apply them in training, continue to develop and learn new lessons in a sterile environment. Like we did from the mid 70's till 2002. Our SOF unit were hone to a-sharp edge and ready for any mission ahead. Which garnered immediate success when they went into Afghanistan in early 2002. SOF needs to learn how to capture lessons learned and apply them via the training environment like we did prior to 2002. They must be ready for any mission in the years to come. Since future actions probably won't be they same, they also need to develop, and learn new tactics for the ever developing and changing face of future wars. For now SF mission will probably return to small unit and counter terror operations in different "Hot Spots" worldwide. Learning via the training environment instead of a combat environment will be critical as they prepare for the next threat.
