LOL, change the namesake to Col. Middleton Tate Johnson. He was a Regulator, a Senator of the Republic of Texas, served as a member of the Second Texas Mounted Volunteers in the Mexican War (1845), was a Texas Ranger (twice), supported Gov. Sam Houston, and opposed secession.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - that's the history all over the United States, even with my facetious suggestion. I left out the part where Johnson supported the CSA, he raised and commanded the Fourteenth Texas Cavalry during the war. My practice includes Johnson County, county seat Cleburne (named after CSA Maj Gen Patrick Cleburne, known as the Stonewall of the West). You're never going to get rid of that history.

This could best be resolved at the national level.

We should pass a law that would delete and expunge the names of all historical figures who ever owned slaves, mistreated any indigenous people, minorities, or immegrants in any way, were associated with any of the rebellions against the lawful government, or ever said a kind word about any of the aforementioned individuals in writing or in any public statement.

Of course doing so would completely eliminate all study of US history, but that seems of little consequence since history is one of many subjects no longer taught in most US schools.

Why does everyone think they have to hide our history? Really getting annoying.
