There are a lot of issues with electric vehicles that haven't been worked out yet.

Yes, especially where do we get the energy to charge them? An Electric Car is a big battery on wheels, so how do we charge the battery? There aren't enough solar cells on earth nor materials to build those solar cells and batteries. And we don't have enough charging stations for all of those electric cars.

There is a good argument for making changes to meet the challenges of a changing environment. But like so many things the "over-reaction squad" leads the narrative. Initially Hybrids would make the most sense, while developing electric vehicle technology that meets the needs of the public. Affordability, proper supporting infrastructure, etc, etc... Lithium batteries... where and how is it to be mined to support the electric vehicle market?? Disposal of said lithium batteries?? Here's the one that gets me.... Everyone moving away from a meat based diet. Okay sure, but how many acres of forest are going to have to be leveled to meet the ensuing farming demand??? There are serious problems, what are the root causes, is man-made, or simply part of the ever continuing planetary ecological changes that have been going on for billions of years? Whatever the case sensible ideas need to be considered. Proposals that go to solve the problem, but also address the many other far reaching implications of the proposals. Not! basing decisions on the rantings of an 18 girl.

Making people afraid ain't the way. Any small unit leader learned, "Fear breeds panic. Panic brings death".

Just the thoughts of an old box kicker.

MAJ Hugh Blanchard - The nail on the head. “Proper prior planning prevents piss poor performance”, something AOC should maybe look into. There is something going on, been hearing the doomsday scenario for most of my life. The ozone layer is being destroyed, we’re all gonna die, massive earthquakes are gonna make California fall into the Pacific, etc, etc…. Given the current “we’re all gonna die” situation I would think that strengthening the coastal and interior waterway flood defences would be a good first start. But what do I know, maybe shooting in the dark is the way to go?

GySgt Charles O'Connell - You are absolutely right. My father's home town, New Orleans, is a great case in point. NOLA is already several feet below sea level, and sits in a bowl. Without levies and dikes, NOLA would be 7-10 feet underwater, as we saw after Katrina. Many seaside locales, including Norfolk and Virginia Beach, need serious infrastructure work to survive possible sea level rise. But most of the so-called "Infrastructure" Bill is in fact a Socialist Wish List aimed at setting up more vote-buying welfare programs, only about 10% is aimed at real physical infrastructure.
Alas, Babylon...

MAJ Hugh Blanchard - The nonsense is comparable to an episode of NCIS, or a Johnny Depp perfume commercial.
