B-52 Stratofortress Take Off U.S. Air Force

The Air Force often gets ridiculed and primarily because our mission is different than the Army, Marines or Navy... We put some mighty Power into the skies from locations all over the world... It is not so simple to get some of these larger planes into the air as you will see in this relatively short video clip of the USAF's Largest aircraft, with standard and nuclear munitions as needed should a global event be necessary... Watch now as our air and ground crews get a squadron of B52's into the air... It is no small feat...

Best watched in Full Screen with sound up... If you get antsy after a few minutes, go to about the 8 minute mark and finish it out!!! It is a key line of both U.S. defense and offense if we ever need it...

I have been thankful for the Air Force since before my enlistment in the Army. Every war movie I have ever seen always show the need for air power. In combat it has saved my hiney.

Thank you for your comments, CSM Darieus ZaGara - We (USAF Airmen) have our place in times of threat or war wherever and whenever we are needed, from the smallest planes to the largest mission oriented planes like the C5-Galaxy and the B52 Stratofortress and everything in between including that beast, the A10 WartHog for Air to Ground Support!!!

The only problem that I had with the Air Force was their refusal to let me use their mess hall at Carin Airfield because I was in the Army and on Separate Rations. I had the cash to pay, but I was tlod to go somewhere else. I worked from that airfield for most of a year.

Somehow that doesn't seem right, Michael... Military is military and if you were stationed at that base, you should have been able to use the Mess Hall!

Sgt (Join to see) - It was at the Helicopter flight school. They were at the Air Traffic Controller School. The only excuse they gave was about 'screwing up their bookkeeping'. They also treated the Army techs like we were useless but without us, their school would have to close. I maintained the system that provided weather data to the student pilots. No data = no flights. When needed, I also serviced some old RaDAR systems.

1SG Dan Capri - I think the Captain in charge of that school was just being a jerk. His, Ft. Rucker is your base!" pissed me off, since that airfield was part of ft. Rucker. Te main base was far enough away that you only had a few minutes to eat, after the time for a round trip.
