Defend yourself with one hand; draw your empty pistol with the other hand; ummmm which hand do you use to rack the slide to chamber a round that should have been there to start with. Yea if your sights are taller you may be able to hook it on your belt to load but damn… empty carry is inviting danger to yourself unnecessarily.

Wow brother Rick! Not a good rule to follow IMHO, when split seconds are a factor yeah give me some added time to chamber a round, not!

I would do to this when not carrying but I wanted to have easy access and rounds in the chambers. I would have all chambers loaded except the one that was where the firing pin was. The reason would be if it were dropped and landed exactly on the hammer, an accidental discharge would not likely happen. I would still have a round available when the hammer was cocked and the cylinder advanced.
