I remember my WWII Veteran Father telling me about a small scar on his arm caused by mustard gas. They took training in the gas chambers during basic real serious. It's pretty messed up that more Leaders weren't aware of the chemical shell cargo!

I enjoyed the read LTC and was not aware of that point in history.
It is odd, the US would place special weapons in close proximity to 1000's of personal and civilians. If it does happen in the future, I bet it has 24hr cover from air and radar.
We are now fighting forces lead by former Generals. Do you agree, they are trying to hit us where we are weakest? The enemy always gets a vote. But, it appears the enemy has been hurt badly and has lost the will to mount a large tactical campaign. I get the impression, they are healing their wounds and will be back with fresh blood. As they control the narrative.
Give them a target and place an Ambush in position. See if anyone shows. Listen for chatter.
Have a good night Sir. Please excuse my last post on your friends article. The enemy is very mean and will hate your attempts at peace. But, they will take your peace offerings.

I'm aware of the Islamic terror. I just haven't read about any large scale ISIS attacks lately.
In Afghanistan, it is we who are the insurgents. It is home field advantage for them and they control the narrative.
ISIS would perform better if they had more difficult terrain. They have moved to more remote areas to launch from.
Anyway, I was writing about large engagements. To me, the enemy is hitting with guerrilla warfare tactics. IMO.

GySgt John Olson - I think you always make great points GySgt and you have written in the past about how they might be organized comparied to us. Which I agree with you.
My last few posts are directed at what I see as the enemy. The 1-10% of Sunni and Shia Islam following Muhammad's orders to wage war with the world until the world submits to Islam. It does not matter to me where the warriors for Muhammad hit, it is the fact they are not stupid and hit us were we are weakest. At least, lately that appears more true.
I do not want to argue the politics of US relation with Iraqi Shia government and said government supressing the Sunni minority causing ISIS, or the Syrian civil war FUBAR situation. It appears, we agree both are a mess.
The LTC posted on special weapons and how a situation could have been avoided. Even with our advancments in tech, we must remember the enemy wants us dead and will adjust their movments to avoid our strength.
One way to keep the enmey from scoring a large hit, would be to not let them into our country. Why we do so is very PC. IMO.
Have a great day GySgt. I am off to a Dr's office to perform exams.
