Disgusting. He was a community organizer before he went to Congress. How did he accumulate all that wealth?

Corruption. Or was that a rhetorical question?

Multi-million-dollar book royalties for him and his wife, six figure speaking engagements for him and his wife, six figure salaried positions on multiple boards of directors, film rights, presidential retirement income, and investments (typically not available or known to the masses - not the same as insider trading). True wealth does not sit in a vault where you swim in it like Scrooge McDuck.

When you start to accumulate cash faster than you expend it, wealth expands exponentially. Hypothetical: on just one or two speaking engagements, President Obama can buy an upper-middle class home, mortgage free. That property increases his net worth through rental income and through appreciation. He and His wife have a combined speaking calendar of more than 60 six figure speeches per year. Which raises his credit rating and allows him to borrow large sums (of the money you and I invest in commonly available investments) that earn well above what he will pay us in interest.

The rest of us will most likely never experience that level of wealth because we purchase non-appreciating, non-revenue generating assets on credit and incur a debt service that puts the brakes on our own wealth accumulation.

Once a person earns enough money that actual living expenses, unexpected capital outlay (repair and replace major end items) and lifestyle choices are a relatively small portion of their net income, super-wealth is not a difficult task.

Before anyone rips me as an Obama fan/defender, I'm not. I actually read his books before his election. I would vote for a piano playing chicken for president before I cast a vote for President Obama. Just practicing a little intellectual honesty.

Same was as everyone who has served in Congress did, being president just increased his stock.

So, maybe he knows something we don’t. Talk is cheap, follow the money.
If I had a ton of money, but not Musk level, and I actually thought the sea was going to rise, then I’d build above the water line on cheaper land that will be oceanfront soon. I certainly wouldn’t put my money into beachfront properties.
So, either he’s incredibly irresponsible with his (our) money, or it’s all a sham, and it’s about control. But, since “global warming” was originally invented by Enron to make its solar panels pencil because it took more power to build them than they produced, MMGW has been a political issue because some people are bad at math. This event gives us insight into what someone who knows all the real data (we would hope) actually believes.

Talk isn't cheap or he would be broke. He knows nothing we don't know and has initiated the step to make America socialist. He has already proven for 8-years that he's worthless to our country.
