I am playing this out in my mind. Trump was the biggest hater in the country. He did so to make impassioned supporters who believed in his lies and hate. If you don’t believe his hate then why did he attack veterans a couple days after their death? He attacked his own scientists. The list is endless.

He also used other methods to harness the hate of his supporters by trying to control the media. That is another ploy dictators indulge in. The federal government was curtailed because they feared Trump. He wanted to control the apparatus and the people.

I think due to the investigations Trump will lose his political capital and think the hate will decrease. What a loathsome person and ignorant Trump supporters.

CIVIL WAR  |  ARTICLE
The Lost Cause: Definition and Origins

October 30, 2020  •  Updated March 25, 2021

“As the Civil War drew to a close in 1865, defeated Southerners looked around at the death and destruction that the war had inflicted on their homes, businesses, towns, and families. “The South was not only…conquered, it was utterly destroyed…More than half [of] the farm machinery was ruined, and…Southern wealth decreased by 60 percent,” states historian James M. McPherson. The war initiated over the issue of the preservation of slavery, as pronounced in the seceding states’ articles of secession and in the Confederacy’s constitution, was the cause of this devastation. “The prohibition of slavery in the Territories is the cardinal principle of this organization.,” read one such justification of secession and war in 1861. With the abolition of slavery becoming the law of the land in 1865, it became harder and harder for many Southerners to justify the purpose of the war and the deaths of nearly 300,000 of their sons, brothers, fathers, and husbands.

Thus, many Southerners set to work to rewrite the narrative of the war. Former Confederate general and one-time commander of the United Confederate Veterans claimed, “If we cannot justify the South in the act of Secession, we will go down in History [sic] solely as a brave, impulsive but rash people who attempted in an illegal manner to overthrow the Union for our Country.” Thus, from the ashes of war, the myth of the “Lost Cause” was born.”

“Some in the North, especially Union veterans and African Americans, were angered by glorifying the Confederate cause and slavery. However, general public opinion had shifted towards reconciliation with the defeated South, especially after they became disillusioned with Reconstruction. It was telling when two ex-Confederates were pallbearers at Ulysses S. Grant’s funeral. Thus, many Northerners accepted the Lost Cause narrative as a way to mend the wounds of the war and to move the country forward into the twentieth century.”

Scientific racism (sometimes race realism, human biodiversity, race biology or racial biology[1]) is the pseudoscientific belief that empirical evidence exists to support or justify racism (racial discrimination), racial inferiority, or racial superiority;[2][3][4] alternatively, it is the practice of classifying[5] individuals of different phenotypes or genotype into discrete races. Historically it received credence in the scientific community, but is no longer considered scientific.[3][4]

Back in the late 1700s, German philosopher Christoph Meiners believed in the psudeo-scientific theory of scientific racism. Meiners thought that people from the Caucasus region had the “whitest, most blooming, and most delicate skin” and viewed non-Caucasians as inferior and “animal-like.”

In the British colonies in North America and the Caribbean, the designation English or Christian was initially used in contrast to Native Americans or Africans. Early appearances of white race or white people in the Oxford English Dictionary begin in the seventeenth century.[15] Historian Winthrop Jordan reports that, "throughout the [thirteen] colonies the terms Christian, free, English, and white were … employed indiscriminately" in the seventeenth century as proxies for one another.[34] In 1680, Morgan Godwyn "found it necessary to explain" to English readers that "in Barbados, 'white' was 'the general name for Europeans.'"[35] Several historians report a shift towards greater use of white as a legal category alongside a hardening of restrictions on free or Christian blacks.[36] White remained a more familiar term in the American colonies than in Britain well into the 1700s, according to historian Theodore Allen.[35]

WHITE PEOPLE FACING RACE :

“Uncovering the Myths That Keep Racism in Place”

Whiteness

“At the National Museum of African American History and Culture, we believe that any productive conversation on race must start with honesty, respect for others, and an openness to ideas and information that provide new perspectives.

We hope that this portal will be an ever-evolving place that will continue to grow, develop, and ensure that we listen to one another in a spirit of civility and common cause.

Whiteness and white racialized identity refer to the way that white people, their customs, culture, and beliefs operate as the standard by which all other groups of are compared. Whiteness is also at the core of understanding race in America. Whiteness and the normalization of white racial identity throughout America's history have created a culture where nonwhite persons are seen as inferior or abnormal.

This white-dominant culture also operates as a social mechanism that grants advantages to white people, since they can navigate society both by feeling normal and being viewed as normal. Persons who identify as white rarely have to think about their racial identity because they live within a culture where whiteness has been normalized.

Thinking about race is very different for nonwhite persons living in America.

People of color must always consider their racial identity, whatever the situation, due to the systemic and interpersonal racism that still exists.”

The shame of American white culture
* By Larry Beck Apr 23, 2021

“White people in this country will have quite enough to do in learning how to accept and love themselves and each other, and when they have achieved this … the Negro problem will no longer exist, for it will no longer be needed.”

What is astonishing is how many Americans support a tyrant who tried to steal the election.
