“Dancing with the Stars” alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy is in Ukraine and has a message for Russia: “In a civilized world, this is not the way we do things.”

The choreographer, who was born in besieged nation, posted a series of social media videos on Thursday from Kyiv.

“I am not at this point someone who is pleading for someone else's safety from a far distance,” Chmerkovskiy said. “I'm somebody who's about to go to bomb shelter, because shit’s going down,” he added, appearing to be filming from a high-rise building in the Ukrainian capital as sirens blazed in the background, after Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an attack on Ukraine hours earlier.
