I know what you mean, Captain. You would think the relationship to "fringe" might suggest to them a "nibbling away at the edges".

Long, long ago the Supreme Court listened to the wisdom of Noah Webster, and embraced the principle "The power to tax is the power to destroy".

They applied that principle to protect voting rights from the danger of destruction by taxation, by declaring any form or amount of "poll tax" as unconstitutional. Any expense entailed in running an election must be shared by all taxpayers, not merely those members of the electorate who choose to exercise their right to vote.

It would be consistent for the Court to apply that same principle to the exercise of 2nd Amendment rights as well. No "fee" should be required to make application for an endorsement of an individual's fitness to keep and bear arms, e.g. a CCW. Any "administrative expenses", such as fingerprint checking or safety training classes must also be paid from general revenue, not from any charges levied on an individual who exercises his 2nd Amendment rights.

I guess the Libs think that we aren't "cranial" enough to understand how they plan to slide in this kind of crap, especially late night sessions to be released at the low point of the news cycle, i.e. Friday evening.
