I had no idea that Cesar Romero was a Chief Bosun's Mate in the U.S. Coast Guard. And Saipan and Tinian were two of the worst landings in the late stages of the Pacific War. My late uncle, VADM Frank Vannoy, was part of those two landings as well as 19 more. Unbelievable, I have a lot more respect for this man now, I had no idea he had served in this capacity.
