My take; All that .223 ammo that is so "readily" available now is going to start diminishing over the next 10-15 years. If you're one of those folks that wants a long gun that fires military ammo, it's time to start looking at .277Fury/6.8 platforms. What hasn't changed in many, many years is the .308/7.62. I wonder if that's because it's the best all around caliber for anything you want to do bigger than a coyote.

Roger that. The new 6.8mm ammo should make it nasty indeed.

Im not a fan of the loss of rounds troops will carry but I do like the platform and the round it fires.

PO1 Jeff Chandler - I have zero confidence the Army will field a training program to make use of this combo capabilities. Shitty shooting fundamentals are not negated by a great optic.

PO1 Jeff Chandler - I would too, but…weapons qual is just another annual task to most of the Army and has minimal time and ammo allocations to meet the base line requirement. I realized long ago that most of the “army” is not into guns or shooting.

1SG Russell S. - I did see front line combat units with more range time and ammo allotments will be the first to be issued these weapons. I agree though with a majority of support units it would be a waste.
