I have addressed this before. There is something crazy about medical billing. I had surgery that was billed at $51,000. Between insurance and myself, we actually paid a little over $8,000. When I asked why it was billed at $51,000 when they would accept much less, they said they bill the amount insurance tells them to bill. Is this whole process just designed to make the insurance companies look good?
