Factual climate change reporting can influence Americans positively, but not for long

Media coverage of climate change can influence Americans to adopt more accurate beliefs about the environment, but the information doesn't stay with them for long, according to a new report.
After reading accurate articles about climate change, Americans may see it more as a problem that impacts them and lean toward supporting the government's climate change policies.
"It is not the case that the American public does not respond to scientifically informed reporting when they are exposed to it," said Thomas Wood, one of the study's authors and an associate professor of political science at The Ohio State University.

At this point I believe that most everyone is aware of "Climate Change' and the impact it is having on our earth environment, PO1 William "Chip" Nagel... The problem is (in my view) that politicians have been shuffling climate change theatrics for so long, that they have no real plan how to shift seamlessly from a fossil fuel based change to one that is not based on fossil fuel, but on other means of energy... Wind is not going to cut it as they depend on machinery that needs constant lubrication and right now that lubrication is OIL... Having said that, Solar energy is coming along rapidly and may be the source we use long term... But we still need batteries for storage at this point the cost and maintenance and disposal of batteries to store energy is still not ideal... Having said that, we need technical minds to plan the evolution from fossil fuel energy to an energy source that doesn't impact the Earth's climate or destroy ocean or land based life, be it human, animal, bird or other natural life forms... Just postulating here!

You speak sense my friend when all others are speaking politics. We honestly don’t know if wind or solar or fusion is the answer to our energy issues. Notice how no one here talks about fusion.
The plain fact of the matter is we don’t know what the solution is yet, it may be part of all the mentioned above, including fossil fuels, or maybe it is something we haven’t discovered yet… maybe warp drive. :)
The plain fact of the matter is we have a bunch of people making a killing on wind and solar commodities at the expense of fossil fuels now because President Biden has championed only wind and solar while his policies have been killing fossil fuels. Try to get someone to invest in that right now "long term", it isn’t going to happen when the leader of a government says her is going to completely stop fossil fuels. Can wind and solar make fertilize? Who is buying farmland in the US: China, Bill Gates, and other mega rich people? These people see the exploding values in food shortly, but President Biden’s Administration has not. President Biden’s Administration has been a day late and a dollar short on every issue facing our Country. God help us we need some competent leaders who care about our people first. That leave President Biden out. MHO
I suppose it always goes back to politics. I get so angry when I see our President champion a commodity at the actual expense of the American People. I doesn't matter if China owns him, or if he is just that delusional. The fact is the people making mega profits off all this crap are steering our President in his decision making and he is not competent enough to tell good from bad; I don't want to think it's something else. Pray for our children and their children.

Environmental issues, one of which is Climate Change, we learn new things about every day. There is no such thing as settled science, a good example is plastic: 50 years ago, we were saying all plastic is perfect because it is recyclable, and thus renewable. Boy, were we wrong! It could be the same way about some of the shiny new bells and whistles (new topics) we speak about today.
