Lt Col Charlie Brown - Legally anyone may carry a concealed weapon (thus the Liberal argument against it) even in areas with gun-free zones. A legally concealed weapon where no one knows you have it. If they find you have it they can refuse to do business with you. I know of Gun shops inside malls, plazas and squares. If the person legally uses it against a person attacker, mass-shooter or thug-attacker, then he is protected by law.
I would recommend he get a lawyer. Why be armed weapon-wise & unarmed legal-wise.

Weird there were 400+ "good guys with guns" at Uvalde who didn't stop it and just stood outside arresting or detaining parents or stood in the hallway cowering or sanitizing their hands instead of doing their job.

Good guy with gun is a myth. Period. That's been proven time and time again that it is a RARITY that a bystander with a concealed carry stops gun violence.

Also there's no evidence that any mass shooter has chosen a target based on it being a "gun free zone."

The problem is the emphasis on mass killings by firearms vs mass killings.
Mass killings haven't stopped in Australia. They just aren't being committed by firearms. In Australia, many of the subsequent murders was by arson, blunt objects, vehicles, etc

It would be like the USA banning the use of explosives for IEDs and then proclaiming "mass explosive related deaths" have diminished or disappeared. That cause of death may have diminished, but actual murders did not.
