Humans are fallible but we have usually tried hard to overcome that as a nation...let's hope we can still do so. However, we won't do that by destroying and suppressing our history.

A few years ago, I read the communist manifesto that was published here in America in the 60's, and it sent a chill down my spine to look at their list of goals, and realize that they have either totally accomplished, or made huge progress on, every goal on the list.
