I was still in Hawaii serving as the MOPH Dept. of HI commander when numerous boxes of remains were delivered to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) from North Korea. It was a big deal at the time.

The forensic folks do a fantastic job of repatriating the missing with their families.

They sure do. They have an amazing facility at Hickam AFB.

Wow, after all those years the remains being held by the North Koreans were finally returned? For what reason would they hold onto the remains in the first place?
