He is exactly the type of man Patton was talking about when he said "It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.

I would never even consider arguing with anything said by Patton as my respect for him is beyond any easy description, but I do have a question: Why can't we do both? Eg: Thank God that such men lived, and mourn their loss as well....
