I've already voiced my thoughts on your other M-1 post.
The only other thing that came to me after I hit the respond button was, why not go to a rail gun system and get rid of the 120mm gun. there would be no propellant to cook off if it was hit, plus since the only thing that they would need was the " bullet " they would be able to haul more rounds.
