We'll still be spent into oblivion. The republicans are not fiscally responsible nor do they want to be. And the democrats are even worse.

What will it take? I'm sure there are those in both parties talking about getting into a war somewhere.

I've actually been up since about 4 because I woke up and started thinking about this stuff. You are speaking about the results; I was thinking about how abortion resonated with people above more important issues. I just can't understand how people can become fixed so emotionally on one or two issues that that can't see the big picture. I guess if that's what the young kids want, they will have to learn the hard way. They better be careful although because when people like our current Progressive Democrats take control, they don't let go even if they are voted out. MHO

SFC (Join to see) It's weird to think that the abortion issue was a killer (pun not intended) for a lot of young voters. It was a Supreme Court decision, not a republican party one.

My wife is/was one of the hysterical ones about it. I told her it was only being sent back to the states and not being ended. She either can't understand that or doesn't want to. And the media made big hay of it too.

Of course. there were those states that right away went on with new anti-abortion laws. I get it, but obviously it harmed things.

Lastly, no one can name anything that was listed on the House's "Committment to America".

Fetterman kept running ads like "People will force this 15-year old rape victim to have the rapist's child" while showing a young looking 15 year old school girl. Unfortunately, people in Pennsylvania have a union mentality of us against them, and can't see past whatever argument the union (Progressive Democrats) idea is put forth.

My main issue is of concern to neither party based on their performance. Their words are to the contrary. I am concerned about the continuing growth in our debt. This ripple means little for that as the Republican party hasn't lived up to their rhetoric on this issue.

When I was educated about Climate Change by the Association of Climate Change Officials (ACCO) there were many questions I asked that they had no answer to. Their standards are arbitrary because that’s the only way they can get an answer in the time frame they need. They start out the class (it’s about a week long or so) by saying they are not the experts in engineering and science, but they “use” their data to draw conclusions. My problem with that when they are making value judgements about engineering data, effectively they are practicing engineering without a license. It doesn’t see to bother them any.

I am sorry I digress, back to the economy part of it. We got to the sustainability part of the class where they told us all infrastructure needs to be built out to the maximum size so we don’t take damage from storms. I explained to them I have experience in designing and constructing infrastructure and I could tell them if the max hydraulic openings out they are taking dollars away from other projects, affecting the environment more, and increase future maintenance costs. The leadership told me: “Don’t worry about cost, we’ll just raise taxes”. That is a direct quote.

These people truly believe there is an unlimited supply of money out there that they can tap into. How do you work with people like these? They are divorced from reality.

Hope doesn't look as bright as it did. At least a few states can see the light.

I see a lot of pain in our future. Our time is limited, I fear for our children and grandchildren, but if we didn't do a good enough job in bringing them up, well we always get what we vote for.
