Indeed it was. From cannon cocker in WWII to infantry regimental CO in Korea--where he led the army's last mass bayonet charge against dug-in Chinese troops!

COL Millett was our honorary regimental commander when I was at Ft. Ord with the 27th Infantry regiment from 1988 to 1992. I have a picture somewhere of him pinning an award on me.
He was a great guy who loved being around the younger Wolfhounds.
