Glad you enjoyed it, Doc! In case you haven't noticed, I'm a WWII aviation buff. Goe back to my junior high days. As a sophomore in HS I got to know Hub Zemke, famed ace and CO of the 56th and 479th Ftr. Grps. in Europe. He gifted me a pair of Luftwaffe flight boots and a flight helmet from his days flying the F-80. Sadly, I lost both on military moves.

I had cataract surgery on both eyes in Hilo back in 2011-12 after I had my right knee replaced at Tripler. Great success.

God is indeed good. My all y'all be richly blessed this Easter/Passover.

Yes. And I'd give my kids up for a chance to fly one. But I'm not a pilot, so there's that. But I loved that beast.

One of my dad's brothers served as crew chief on a P-47D in the Ninth AF in Europe. Started out in England before D-Day, then moved to forward airfields on the continent finishing up in Germany before VE-Day.

Yes, not as nimble as say the P51 ,but it good hold its own with a decent pilot vs, Zero, Also could take a beating and still get home.
