I concur. Tearing down artwork and statues because today's sensibilities are being backwards applied is pretty asinine and should never happen in the US.

Thus is possibly the worst written article I have ever read. It seems they revel in using the term “snowflake” against the GOP… but the writer doesn’t list one person from the convention who requested the display be taken down. For background they don’t even identify what the material is or how someone could take offense to it. Like I said: very poor writing. The writer is probably just trying to stir up the Far Left Base, that’s the only thing I can think of.

Well, it IS from the RawStory ... since the trend seems to be to post reviews of where the information comes from rather than actually checking to see if the information has any merit ... LEFT and 'mixed' factuality.

This goes along with the stance from some that if anything ever comes from a center-right/lean-right/right/far-right source, it can't be believed. Same on the flip side.

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel
..."“Now one man prefers ‘silence’ and ‘whiteness’ to the richness of these words. One man has enlisted demolition crews to take hammer and chisel to these words, to our treasures. What are the words for his action?”

“Make no mistake, they are coming for us with their sand-blasting systems. Censorship of school curriculum. Banned books. It would be hard not to see this action in Wisconsin as a part of those larger efforts.”

The protest has persuaded Brooks to halt the demolition while he gathers opinion – a process that he had initially skipped, the Bulwark reported.

“As of this memo it is all still intact, allowing me time to reflect and respond to the voices commenting on the work which we own,” he wrote.

He didn’t respond to the allegations that it was proposed to shelter convention-goers."
