There are a number of ways to do something like this, and they all amount to serious risks in a real defense situation.

Definitely there will be jamming/emp counter-measures on the market, but the arms race is nothing new

CSM Chuck Stafford nothing so fancy as that... if you have a bluetooth ring or bracelet that activates the gun, what if it is charging when you need it or the signal drops for a critical moment. If it reads your fingerprint, what if your hands are covered in mud or blood or you're wearing a glove.

One more add-on to increase the price of a firearm. Where are the democrats? Why aren't they shrieking about impoverished Americans being disenfranchised from a constitutional right? Smacks of poll tax.

Reality is the Demorats are about keeping poor people poor and controlled. They dont care anymore about poor people than they do women or minorities.

Considering these weapons are priced over $1500 and require a background check, I am uncertain what criminal will be able to complete the process to buy one. This means only the financially stable can buy, the same group of people unlikely to commit crimes in the first place.

Even Biofire doesn't try to claim that their so-called 'Smart Gun' would stop crime or murder. They also clearly state that it isn't appropriate for use as a carry gun. They describe their total target market as people with small children in the home who want a home defense pistol they can keep on the nightstand.

The whole idea of their 'Smart Gun' is that a child in the home would not be able to fire it when it was left lying around the house.

IF it works, it could stop some small number of accidental shootings among rich families with small children.
