What a complete crock of ****. Calling the Southern Poverty Law Center a "Civil Rights Watchdog" is like calling MSNBC "unbiased media". They are both far-left purveyors of "biased truth".

"The New York Times, Politico, NPR and a host of other mainstream publications are reporting on the corruption and widening credibility gap."

"But to those of us familiar with the SPLC and its inner workings, the allegations swirling around the latest drama were familiar. The question isn’t what went wrong at the SPLC; it is why it took so long for the rest of the country to learn what local reporters already knew."

How exactly does SPLC have a voice in any conversation about anything? Who decided that they get to be the sole arbiter of racial disparity? Who funds them? If it's taxpayers, it needs to stop. The race baiting and hate breeding by leftist funded organizations has got to be stopped. If anything will cause future civil conflict, it will be organizations like this.

PO3 Shayne Seibert - They are a non-profit funded primarily by a 'fear' campaign to "gullible rich which liberals", which would have put them in the same category as any other left or right partisan non-profit funded - but during the Obama administration, the SPLC was given "government legitimacy" by an expanded role with the FBI and DHS, often having their documents and speakers front and center.

The big issue is that they actually started out with something most (as in non-extremist) conservatives would agree with - legal representation for poor and targeting actual hate groups such as the KKK, but as the article from the far-left Current Affairs shows, they went drastically off-course, and they've now become (in my opinion) a far-left hate group cloaked in legitimacy. Sure, there is still some good done by them, but that would be along the lines of calling the KKK a "community service group" because they do a food drive.

One of the more "downright grotesque" (as on far-left article called it) fundraising things it did was "In the 1980s the SPLC sued the Klan over the lynching of Michael Donald, and won a $7 million verdict for Donald’s mother. The Klan, however, had by this time diminished to almost nonexistence. Its sole asset was a warehouse that was sold for $55,000, which was all Donald’s mother got. She apparently used a large portion of this to pay back an interest-free loan that the SPLC itself had extended her. Afterward, the SPLC began using photos of Michael Donald’s corpse in its fundraising letters, raising $9 million off the case. Donald’s mother evidently saw none of this money, though when she died barely a year later Morris Dees was quoted in her obituary praising her bravery."

You know it's bad when a Hyper-Partisan Left organization like Current Affairs (https://adfontesmedia.com/current-affairs-bias-and-reliability/) calls them out for all the wrong they are doing (it's not a far-left hit piece on a far-left organization .. it's a far-left piece praising the far-left stuff it does do, but calling out the corruption and wrong stuff it does).

"The Southern Poverty Law Center perfectly shows social change done wrong"
"It was hypocritical in the extreme, preaching anti-racism while fostering a racist internal culture and being led by men whose own commitment to equality was questionable."
"Deploring Bigotry While Engaging In It"
"It was obscenely rich in a time of terrible poverty"
"What the SPLC doesn’t do with its money is a problem. But there is also a problem with what it does do."
and so on.

SFC John D. - Sgt Lee states "The SPLC report compares Moms for Liberty and similar organizations of today to pro-segregationist parent groups."

I don't recall anyone saying children with gender dysmorphia should be in different schools. I believe the argument is that those with XX chromosomes and those with XY chromosomes shouldn't be forced to shower together. Or to compete on the same field where the XX chromosomes are at a decided disadvantage in muscle mass, speed, strength and endurance.

Maj John Bell - Do you expect sensible comments? This is from the crowd that will call you racist if you bring up that BLM conned gullible liberals. SGT Lee's contributions to conversations most often seem to be nothing but a cut & paste from the article and maybe a "Nailed It!" comment thrown in. Don't misunderstand me, I think it's probably considered a great contribution by him and many of the MTN articles he posts are good for a laugh at what the left considered 'facts', but I often wonder if the account was a far-left AI chatbot just going through the motions.
