I don't think that anything will change China's calculus on Taiwan. I do think they will take it without a full scale invasion though. Their sphere of influence will consume Taiwan through economic means before the military will be needed.

That is what I have long thought and is my reply whenever anyone states that China will use the US focus on Ukraine as cover to go after Taiwan. Why in the world would they? Armed conflict is risky and they are getting what they want slowly and steadily via much less risky means.
