This is really short. We've heard over the years that ballistics testing is like finger prints. No 2 guns are going to leave the same markings on a casing and fired bullet. The Maryland Supreme Court just said that's not enough.

I skimmed through the opinion. Lot of stuff in there which is ripe for consumption. Especially the Ames II study.

I agree with the MDSC on this. Can conclude it is consistent - it may have been fired from that gun; but cannot conclude it is definitive - it *was* fired from that gun.

And that is a HUGE difference for the defense team.
