Fort Driant: General George S. Patton Jr's Only Lost Battle

That whole area of Metz fortifications is something to behold. While stationed in Baumholder, GE I was able to visit the both Ft Driant as well as other fortifications. I’m glad I didn’t have to fight there in any of the three wars fought in that same area( Franco Prussian, WWI, & WW II). I’m pretty sure it’s the same area where my wife’s Grandfather was severely wounded thus ending his infantry career.
